Vestibular Rehabilitation

Professional assessment and treatment for dizziness and balance issues. Find out what's causing your symptoms and what can be done.

Understanding Dizziness

Dizziness can come from many sources — some related to the inner ear, some to the neck, and some that require further medical investigation. It can be frightening and debilitating, affecting your ability to work, drive, and enjoy daily life.

Specialised vestibular training allows me to assess your dizziness and determine if it's a type I can treat, or if you need to be referred back to your doctor for further investigation.

⚠️ Important

Some causes of dizziness are medically serious and require prompt medical attention. If your dizziness is accompanied by sudden severe headache, difficulty speaking, numbness, chest pain, or loss of consciousness, please seek emergency care immediately.

Conditions I Can Help With

  • BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) — the most common cause of vertigo
  • Post-concussion dizziness and balance problems
  • General balance impairment and unsteadiness
  • Cervicogenic dizziness (related to neck problems)
  • Vestibular hypofunction (reduced inner ear function)
  • Motion sensitivity and visual vertigo

Treatment Approaches

Repositioning Maneuvers

For BPPV, specific head movements like the Epley maneuver can relocate displaced crystals in the inner ear — often providing immediate relief in just one or two sessions.

Balance Exercises

Progressive exercises to challenge and improve your balance system, reducing feelings of unsteadiness and building confidence.

Gaze Stabilisation

Exercises to improve visual focus during head movement, reducing the sensation that the world is moving when you aren't.

Habituation Training

Gradual exposure to movements or situations that trigger dizziness, helping your brain adapt and reduce sensitivity.
